2009 OCT 28: SUCCESSFUL DONATION PUSH TO SAMOA AND AMERICAN SAMOA
Our assistant director (AD), Tuli Fruean, reported back to us the damages of the islands he's been exposed to in the duration of his efforts to drop off the SCSA's first big donation package.
"The damages are extensive. It's obvious there's not enough help because people are making out with what they have...People are anxious, people are on edge and on their own, fending for themselves."
There seems to be not a lot of confidence with the government because items of need are being filtered elsewhere and not to areas requiring immediate help. AD Fruen stated that he wished he had brought more, and so do we. We're not here to condemn or push confidence for the efforts of the government or Red Cross, we want to supplement the need that is being provided. This feedback about the benefits of our first donation drop-off at the islands was the boost necessary inspire us to continue our efforts. Keep up the good work, everyone!
